Republicans want to run a credit check on people before letting them have a child

Los Angeles, CA -- Republicans in the House of Representatives say they have a solution to help the economy and the country as a whole. On Tuesday morning, three representatives from Texas and Mississippi met to discuss the effectiveness of checking people's credit before they can buy a car or own a house[right, we all know how effective that really is]. At the end of the meeting - claiming to be able to think outside the box - the three Republicans decided to apply these same regulations towards childbirth.
They said a bill would be introduced next week requiring people to pass a basic credit check (have at least one prospective parent with a FICO score of 650 or higher) before being able to have a child. Hospitals would be required to check people's credit and report any couple or single woman caught pregnant with a score lower than 650.
No other details were given, but community groups are already outraged at the proposal, saying that this is a direct attack on minorities, especially Blacks and Hispanics in inner cities. Some called it a malicious attempt to stop immigrants from having children, since immigrants don't even have a credit history, while others said this is the dumbest thing they've ever heard, but coming from Republicans, it makes sense.
Al Sharpton, official spokesperson for the Black community, was not available for comment. No nationally recognizable, respectable, influential, and powerful spokesperson for the Hispanic community exists; therefore, we Hispanics will wait and see what Al Sharpton has to say.
