Phoenix, AZ -- Despite critics of Arizona's polarizing immigration law protesting with dangerously provocative white ribbons, Major League Baseball's All-Star Game carried on unfazed in downtown Phoenix.
"I don't understand", stated Carlos Martinez, who came up with the fearless and risky idea to protest by wearing and handing out white ribbons outside MLB's All-Star Game in downtown Phoenix. "We pushed protesting to the extreme. How could it have gone unnoticed?"
Many experts who had gotten word about the precarious white ribbon protesters were concerned that the over the top demonstrations were going to lead to violence, but - fortunately for everyone - the experts were wrong.
"We are so relieved that fans, players, and MLB turned a blind eye to those audacious protesters wearing and passing out those menacing white ribbons", said Steve Howard, a sports analysts for ESPN. "Things could have gotten nasty real fast"
The rift between critics of Arizona's discriminatory immigration law and Major League Baseball goes back to the days when SB1070 was initially passed. Activists at the time wanted baseball to move the All-Star game from Arizona, but commissioner Bud Selig declined and told them, as gracefully as he could, to go to hell.
By ignoring the daring protesters once again today, Bud Selig and Major League Baseball enabled the All-star game to take place without any major complications, but the neglected critics outside Chase Field said that they'd be back, next time employing an even riskier technique - protesting wearing not just one, but two white ribbons each.
