Culiacan, Sinaloa -- Reporters at El Sol de Sinaloa have confirmed the authenticity of a letter they received from El Chapo Guzman this morning, which states that he is willing to help the US Government pay off its national debt in exchange for a few privileges along the I-35 corridor.
The signed letter was allegedly sent to El Sol de Sinaloa at 7:00am (PDT) this morning with specific instructions to forward the message to the US. In it, Mexico's wealthy drug lord says he can solve the deadlock in the government's debt ceiling debate in exchange for a few benefits along I-35, the most strategic interstate for drug smugglers.
"Republicans, Democrats: you are taking major risks by flirting with financial disaster. May I suggest that letting me pay off your national debt in exchange for a few favors is not as risky as what you are currently doing", reads the translated letter, which was forwarded to the major media outlets in the US several hours ago.
No reports have been received from Republicans or Democrats at this point, which most likely means they are considering the offer.
Given that Republicans are willing to screw over senior citizens by slashing Social Security and Medicare, while protecting the wealthiest Americans from taxes, it seems only fair to say that El Chapo's offer appears less harmful in comparison.
