Los Angeles, CA -- The Hispanic unemployment rate for November climbed to 11.5 percent, one-tenth of a point higher than its previous level of 11.4 percent 6 months ago, according to data released Friday from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
In contrast, the overall unemployment rate dropped 0.4 percentage points, giving white Americans the comfort that although politicians and corporations are screwing them over, Hispanics are getting screwed just a little bit better, and harder.
For the year, the Hispanic unemployment rate has averaged 11.4 percent a month, compared to an average unemployment rate of 9 percent for the nation as a whole.
Experts predict that if conditions remain unchanged, the unemployment rate for the millions of Hispanics could set a new record, reaching the dangerous level of "ya valio madre".
